Here is what you need to do to sound more professional.
Sounding more professional can be achieved by simply replacing a common word with a more formal one.
Examples:
Everyday Vocabulary---------More Formal Vocabulary
Follow the rules -------------Comply with the rules
Let (someone) know.------- -Inform (someone)
Talk about (something) -----Discuss (something)
These are just three small changes that sound more professional than using every day vocabulary. You want to have the right words for the right situation, and in business it is professional language.
Knowing the right words for the right situation is an important skill for any English speaker to have. You can have it too by gradually expanding your formal vocabulary.
